Gregg Bissonette to Tour with Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band in Upcoming North American Tour

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (January 29, 2014) – Grammy Award-winning drummer Gregg Bissonette will join Ringo Starr and the All Starr band for Starr’s upcoming North American tour this summer.

Ringo Starr announced the 2014 lineup and tour dates on Tuesday, January 28.

“I love playing with this band,” said Starr in a statement, “and I can’t wait to get back out and play with them again.”

In addition to Gregg Bissonette on drums, the tour will include Steve Lukather from Toto on guitar, Richard Page from Mr. Mister on bass, Gregg Rolie of Santana and Journey on keys, and Todd Rundgren on guitar.

Ringo Starr reunited with Paul McCartney at the Grammy Awards on January 26 as well as collaborating on a special taping celebrating the Beatles’ 50th anniversary of appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show. The special will air Sunday, February 9 on CBS.

Gregg Bissonette has played with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Ringo Starr, Santana, James Taylor, David Lee Roth, Toto, Linda Ronstadt, Andrea Bocelli, Brian Wilson, Smash Mouth, The Doobie Brothers, Barry Manilow, Ozzy Osbourne, the Brian Setzer Big Band, Enrique Iglesias, and Spinal Tap, to name just a few. He’s played on scores for TV (Friends and 10 Years) and film, including Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, The Devil Wears Prada, American Pie, The Bucket List, and Enchanted.

Bissonette has played on American Idol, as well as on the Academy Award-winning song “Man or Muppet” from the major motion picture The Muppets. He also played on the Grammy winning albums Santana Supernatural and Live in Osaka with Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather.
