Gregg Bissonette Joins the Dixon Drums Family

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (April 17, 2014) – GRAMMY Award-winning drummer Gregg Bissonette announced his new partnership with drum and hardware company Dixon Drums today. The renowned drummer will introduce his Artisan Series Gregg Bissonette Signature drum set this fall, working with Dixon as an artist endorser, clinician, brand ambassador and product consultant. The Gregg Bissonette Signature set will feature his favorite shell composition, North American Maple.

The tour kicks off on June 6 in Rama, Canada, running the expanse of the US before culminating at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on July 19. Gregg was a member of Ringo and the Roundheads from 2003 to 2005 and has been a part of the All-Starrs since 2008.

He has played with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Ringo Starr, Santana, James Taylor, David Lee Roth, Toto, Linda Ronstadt, Andrea Bocelli, Brian Wilson, Smash Mouth, the Doobie Brothers, Ozzy Osbourne, the Brian Setzer Band, Enrique Iglesias and Britain’s loudest band, Spinal Tap. Gregg Bissonette to Tour with Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band in Upcoming North American Tour

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (January 29, 2014) – Grammy Award-winning drummer Gregg Bissonette will join Ringo Starr and the All Starr band for Starr’s upcoming North American tour this summer.

Ringo Starr announced the 2014 lineup and tour dates on Tuesday, January 28.

“I love playing with this band,” said Starr in a statement, “and I can’t wait to get back out and play with them again.”

In addition to Gregg Bissonette on drums, the tour will include Steve Lukather from Toto on guitar, Richard Page from Mr. Mister on bass, Gregg Rolie of Santana and Journey on keys, and Todd Rundgren on guitar.

Ringo Starr reunited with Paul McCartney at the Grammy Awards on January 26 as well as collaborating on a special taping celebrating the Beatles’ 50th anniversary of appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show. The special will air Sunday, February 9 on CBS.

Gregg Bissonette has played with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Ringo Starr, Santana, James Taylor, David Lee Roth, Toto, Linda Ronstadt, Andrea Bocelli, Brian Wilson, Smash Mouth, The Doobie Brothers, Barry Manilow, Ozzy Osbourne, the Brian Setzer Big Band, Enrique Iglesias, and Spinal Tap, to name just a few. Presented by MUSO Entertainment, the Gregg Bissonette Groove Camp (GBGC) will offer a limited number of students a total of 24 hours of hands-on, intensive playing alongside one of the world’s most prolific and respected drummers.

The GBGC offers three, eight-hour days of hands-on drumming in a small-scale classroom setting featuring instruction in a variety of techniques and musical drumming styles including: Pop, Rock, Jazz, Metal, Latin, Country, Punk, Reggae, Big Band, Blues, Hip Hop, Linear Funk and Old School Funk among others.

Space in the GBGC is extremely limited to allow Gregg to personally guide students through exercises that help hone and improve their drumming skills. Gregg Bissonette and All Star Cast Join YouTube Drummer Wanted Sensation Dean Zimmer

OXNARD, CALIFORNIA (September 27, 2013) – Grammy Award-winner Gregg Bissonette will be performing tonight at 6pm on DrumChannel.com with Dean Zimmer, featured in the popular YouTube video “Drummer Wanted,” and an all-star cast. The show will feature a reunion of the Woodland Hills Drum Club, including Terry Bozzio, Doane Perry, and Myron Grombacher. Drummer Mark Craney started the group with Bissonette, Grombacher, Perry, and Bozzio in Woodland Hills, California.

Dean Zimmer was born with arthrogryposis and has always been in a wheelchair. The video explores his life, including what he has to do just to get his drums in his car, drive his specially rigged van, and get up onto a drum stool. With his band, Zimmer has opened for many major touring acts including Eddie Money, Styx, Paul Rodgers, Thin Lizzy, and Kansas.
